Biography
Gustavo Lins was born in Brazil, and originally majored in architecture. He completed a Master at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Barcelona in 1989.

Hebegan freelancing as a pattern maker in 1990, working both for women’s wear fashion top brands such as Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Kenzo Paris and Agnès B ; and in menswear, for Louis Vuitton and John Galliano.

It was 2003 when he created his label Gustavolins, in order to develop a high fashion ready-to-wear collection for men and women. The collections are available in selected boutiques such as L’Eclaireur (Paris and Tokyo), Lift Etage (Tokyo), Wynn (Las Vegas), Jin (Seoul) and Chegini (Wien), among others.

Exhibitions and installations of his work have been displayed at L’Eclaireur (Paris and Tokyo), Joyce Gallery – Palais Royal, M+F Girbaud (Paris) and Dantone (Milan).

Company profile
The Atelier Gustavolins produces not only couture collections for men and women, but also unisex accessories and design objects.

Gustavo Lins’ fashion redefines luxury through sophisticated prêt-à-porter, made up as handcraft, both for large distribution, and for limited editions. A member of the “Fédération Française de la Haute Couture” since three years, Gustavo Lins has presented 14 collections and 6 défilés, all tailored in his Atelier, located in an old building in the heart of the Marais neighbourhood in Paris.

In this place buzzing with the excitement of experimentalism and creation, surrounded by his cosmopolitan staff, he brings all the prototypes of his collections to life: tailor-made clothes and also unique garments, like kimonos, leather armors, paper dummies and panels covered in canvas.

From 2007 onwards Gustavo Lins has worked alongside the Nymphenburg Porcelain Manufactory in Munich, where he has created art objects and accessories.

Gustavo Lins creates his garments directly on three-dimensional dummies. This concept, together with a well-mastered technique, enables the creation of apparently very simple elements, which in fact are very complex to realize.
Moreover, the search for a sensuality tactile approach results from the shape of lines, colors and fabrics.

Range of materials: Gustavo Lins is very demanding in his choice of materials such as silk crepe, soft leather, wool and cashmere drape, woolen jasper, muslin of wool, cotton and cashmere velour, knitted fabrics…

All the reinforcing elements are made out of leather: the hemline of trousers, the wristband, the sleeves, the inside part of pockets, the loops for buttons. Range of colors: Gustavo Lins works on a grey pallet, as a mix of all other colors. This neutral colour is brightened and warmed by overlaying a rose carné, a plum violet, a green tea and a nuance of taupe. The line of models is defined by the color black for a more precise graphic style.
