Jean-Michel Cazabat, a native of Gascony in southern France has been designing shoes for over 25 years.
He began his career as a buyer and store manager for legendary French shoe designer Charles Jourdan, working with him from 1980 to 1985.
He then ventured to New York, where he served as president of the prestigious shoe brand Stephane Kélian, overseeing operations and developing product for the American market. In 1996, Jean-Michel returned to Charles Jourdan as Creative Director.
In 2000, seeing an unfulfilled niche in the luxury shoe market, he launched his own colorful, ultra-feminine women’s line with a range of truly exuberant shoes, followed by a rock-n-roll inspired, handmade men’s line a few years later.
Joining with the Max Oriental Group in 2008, Jean-Michel was given the opportunity to expand his signature footwear brand. His latest collections are a reflection of this as he enters the growing market sector of contemporary and affordable luxury. In 2011, he opened his first boutiques in New York and Hangzhou, China.
