‘Good design incorporates function and form. I want all my clothes to be comfortable and make you feel fabulous… Clothes you can rely on forever.’ says Maria. Maria Grachvogel is a well loved label of all aficionados of fine design. Established in 1994 and shown for the first time at London Fashion Week in 1995, the Maria Grachvogel label is coveted by many of the world’s most stylish women including: Angelina Jolie, Florence Welch, Victoria Beckham, Kelly Rowland and Yasmin Le Bon to name a few. Maria originally worked from her studio in her Sloane Street store for 10 years, 2011 saw the opening of her beautiful flagship store and headquarters in Culford Gardens. The space spans over 3 floors, with the atelier and retail space all beautifully decorated in Maria’s signature prints on the wallpaper and upholstered onto antique chairs, this has subsequently become the brand’s centre of innovation and creativity. After 18 years in the industry, Maria now runs a very tight and well managed international fashion business but her philosophy and desire to make real woman feel like a goddess in her clothes remains firm and the foundation for her business. To date Maria Grachvogel trades in Europe, Asia and America with plans for expansion. The cut of Maria Grachvogel clothes is incredibly skilful, and essentially unique. The lines are clean, with seams engineered to sculpt the silhouette in a way that that can only be understood fully when worn. Even the most basic item; a classic pair of trousers when cut by Maria lengthen the legs and narrow the hips, which has prompted stockists and clients to call them the ‘magic pants’. Each season Maria’s hand printed fabrics and elegant tailoring, timeless daywear and couture collections continue to evolve with ever more ingenuity. Maria believes current times should be about investment dressing and as she expands into new territories we can be sure that Maria will continue to create directional pieces for today and classic pieces for the future. Maria’s transactional e-tail website offers customers advice and tips on dressing for their shape.
