A graduate of Ecole des Beaux Arts, Philippe Mermi began his career as Photo Editor at Hachette Filipacchi where he was involved in on and off-line versions of ELLE and a number of other women's lifestyle and fashion magazines.
He evolved from his experience at Hachette to become Artistic Director for the Web, specializing in luxury brands, and continued to pursue his passion for Photography, Graphics, Fashion and Contemporary Art.
His rich and interesting history with lifestyle, fashion, luxury and the Arts inspired him to create a line of haut game fashion forward scarves for women under the MERMI label. His Collection is wide ranging, unusually creative and graphically impactful. It celebrates the spirit of France.
MERMI is a brand of highly creative haut game fashion forward luxury scarves designed for women that appreciate Art and have a flair for fashion.
There are several different MERMI Collections, each created around specific themes. All of them are highly unusual and characterised by a sense of playfulness and fun, and a range of rich colors and impactful graphics.
The MERMI Collections are available in three formats : silk squares, rectangles (in fine wool and pashmina), and lavallieres. For his most recent « WE ARE ROBOTS » Collection, MERMI introduces a line of scarves in an intriguing new « brilliant » silk and lurex material.
MERMI silk squares are produced in a special factory in Lyon (France), renown for it’s quality and finished by hand. The fine wool and pashima scarves, and the scarves of wool/ cashmere/ silk blends, are produced in small artisanal factories in Northern India. All scarves are exceptionally soft and luxurious.
