QUEENE and BELLE was founded in May 2000 by Doreen Keen and Angela Bell, previously head designers at Pringle of Scotland. Tired of the purist approach to cashmere and lovers of all things antique, quirky and cool, they wanted to inject their passions into a new, exquisite knitwear collection. Together they discovered The Haining, a beautiful Scottish Palladian style mansion. It has become a source of inspiration for their magnificent and luxurious creations.

Elegant and stylish, Doreen Keen is the driving force behind the business and has worked in the fashion industry since 1980. Keen is an avid traveller and magpie to the newest, most beautiful and timeless objects that she can gather inspiration from.

Angela Bell graduated from Kingston University with a First Class degree in fashion design and worked as knitwear designer specialising in cashmere for 14 years. Bell has an incredible eye for colour, shape and detailing working predominantly on the creative side of the collection. Bell also has an eye for objects and these bizarrely beautiful finds can be seen around The Haining.

QUEENE and BELLE creations are a perfect combination of exquisite cashmere with silk underpinnings. Their handmade designs combine modern styling with artisan techniques such as hand intarsia and hand embroidery. Whether subtle or overt, the detailling as always exquisite and combines tradition and expertise. From their 100% silk dresses to delectable sweathers, all have a hand stitched QUEENE and BELLE trademark.

Their couture take on cashmere is one of their distinctive signatures. They source the best vintage ribbons, lace, buttons and beaded motifs from around Europe. These finds are then applied by hand creating customised vintage dresses, kilts, belts and pearl necklaces. Collaborations with fellow designers also inspire their bizarre, graphic motifs which are hand laid into the cashmere. Produced in limited quantities and using special colour combinations developed exclusively for clients, QUEENE and BELLE have created a label so desirable that it begs to be worn against the skin by elegant and glamourous women.
