Mikhail Panteleev was born and raised in Moscow, and comes from a long line of famous painters.
In an auspicious start, Misha’s first runway show in March 1995 marked the first ever fashion show staged in the Grand Kremlin Palace.
The following year he was invited to present his "Panteleev Collection" in Osaka, Japan. It was here that he was discovered by Yohji Yamamoto, who invited him to work in his atelier in Tokyo, focusing on the top women's wear line "Yohji Yamamoto Femmes".
In 2000 Misha founded his own brand "volga volga" together with modelist Shiori Kurushima. They currently work out of an atelier in Tokyo.
volga volga is a Tokyo-based clothing brand launched by designer Mikhail Panteleev and modelist Shiori Kurushima.
From our very first collection in 2001, we have shown men’s wear and women’s wear 36 collections, and we will take a new step now. Keep your hopes up!
We create meticulously designed, easy-to-wear garments by combining various carefully selected fabrics in one piece, using three-dimensional cutting. Each piece has its own personality and texture and is hand-finished in our atelier.
With Misha's keen eye for design and love of sumptuous yet versatile fabrics and Shiori’s precise cutting and sewing, volga volga’s creations are for everyone who loves meticulously designed and well-crafted clothes that last.
