Jean Demavinssy, an ardent lover of fashion and of male and female elegance, started his business when he discovered the Pitti Uomo fashion fairs in Florence early on.
Jean Demavinssy has always had contacts with stylists and trend consultants to catch the spirit of the times. His concern has always been to find heart-throb products for demanding customers, since he has grasped the fact that some trends are born of a desire, an irresistible need even, for novelty and a revival, while others express precisely a rejection of these things.
In 1985 he opened his first showroom in a listed town house in Paris'Rue Vieille du Temple.
He distributed Gian Franco Ruffini, Caramelo, Emilio Cavalini, Caluggi & Gianelli, Piero Fornasetti, Showa, Lola Lorca, You & Me (ladies and gentlemen's), Revillon, Gai Mattiolo Kiss, Antonio
Berardi Spun, Ricci Andrist, Bagutta, Gattinoni etc...
In 1994 he became the importer for You & Me, opening a second, roomier showroom in the Boulevard de Sebastopol in Paris. He opened a shop in Paris under the You & Me banner in an upmarket district with a demanding clientele: the shop was the only one to offer such a full range of these collections.
In 1997 the Spanish company Vicente Romeo contacted him to develop the Vicente Romeo label and launch it in France and throughout the world. In 1998 the deal became exclusive for 5 years when he opened a showroom at 14 rue de Castiglione in the prestigious Place Vendôme district.
He was behind the opening of "shops within shops" at galeries Lafayettes in Bordeaux, Marseille, Lyon, etc...
He has developed 300 sales outlets in multi-brand stores in France and established te label in the United Kingdom, Benelux, Norway, the Middle East and in the Isetan shops in Japan.
In february 2003, after his return from the fashion coterie ad workshop in New-York, he brought a breath of fresh air to the showroom by taing on several Italian labels.
