In 1982 partners Massimo Albini, Annibale Riccardi and Mariella De Capitani opened M.A. Studio. The three partners each brought important worldwide experiences in the ready to wear industry to the new business. The first collections they distributed included Alberto Aspesi, Gentry Portofino and Malisy.

From that point M.A. Studio grew their business by representing emerging stylists including Sonia Rikyel, Angelo Tarlazzzi, Stefano Guerriero, Victor Bellaish, Severine Peraudin, Gaetano Navarra, Marc Audibet, Stephan Janson, Martin Margela for Gentry Portofino, Jan & Carlos, and Saverio Palatella.

After Massimo Albini left in 2000, Annibale Riccardi and Mariella De Capitani continued to develop their position in the market. Today the business serves a broad section of the high-end market around the world. M.A. Studio represents FWS Fiona, Valentin Yudashikin, Christian Lacroix, Orwell, Cantarelli, Aviù, Secret Pon Pon, Vincent Dupontreue, and Blancha.
