The contemporary fashion tradeshow from Paris, RENDEZ-VOUS, will launch their first New York event during the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week New York in February 2009. The event will showcase 75 contemporary fashion collections from North America, Europe and the Far East. RENDEZ-VOUS, considered as the most directional fashion event in the world, will bring the same format as the Paris event but tailor made for the American market. The event will take place at the Altman Building, a landmark venue in the heart of Chelsea.

Created in Paris almost five years ago by Nic Jones, one of the partners of globally renowned brand Surface To Air, is now teaming up with Joshua Safalow, director of the NY based showroom MEXICO and head buyer of Lower East Side boutique ‘BBlessing’ to run the event.

RENDEZ-VOUS began in January 2004 and over the course of the last five years has supported, hand picked and presented some of the best contemporary international collections: menswear from the likes of Kim Jones, Gaspard Yurkievich, Henrik Vibskov, Opening Ceremony, Surface to Air, ACNE, Wood Wood, Chronicles of Never, Obedient Sons, Loden Dager, 5th Avenue Shoe Repair, Mjolk, Unconditional, SNS, BLAAK and womenswear from names as diverse as Richard Nicoll, Roksanda Ilincic, Emma Cook, Antoni & Alison, Cathy Pill, Alexandre Hercovitch, United Bamboo, Txell Miras, OWN, Camilla Staerk, C.Neeon, Wendy & Jim, PAM and many more.

Every season, RENDEZ-VOUS proposes more than a show, a vision of contemporary fashion. RENDEZ-VOUS invites young fashion photographer to interpretates its image ( Thomas Humery, Corriette Schoenaerts, Carlotta Manaigo, Max Farago, Henry Roy...), and exhibit installations from fashion designers in collaboration with artists, curators, galleries or fashion magazines (Andrea Crews, The Kingpins, PAM, Marke Newton, Stephan Schneider, Mosign, So-Me etc...).

In 2009, RENDEZ-VOUS also launches LENEWBLACK.com , the first contemporary fashion online tradeshow. Permanent and global, LENEWBLACK.com facilitates the exchange between designers, buyers and press, before during and after the major world fashion weeks. The site is composed of WHOLESALE and PRESS modules which allow buyers to order collections onlinefrom the comfort of their hotel, office... And for the press to book the key season pieces for shoots and articles.

RENDEZ-VOUS is the first contemporary fashion tradeshow. After almost five years the show still remains true to its founding values: fashion and commerce.
