102 Modem Women’s Milano Modem Women’s Paris Spring-Summer 2014 Edition dedicated to OLIVIER SAILLARD Director of THE PALAIS GALLIERA 2013 FASHION MUSEUM Olivier Saillard (1967, Pontarlier, France) is a historian, critic and curator, who is re-inventing fashion performances by inspiring himself through the mise-en- scène and codes of fashion shows. Olivier Saillard graduated in archeology and contemporary art at Besançon University and from the very beginning his career was marked by positions in a prestigious institutions - from Musée des Arts Décoratifs and Marseille Fashion Museum - to his current appointment as a curator at Palais Galliera, Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris. His work consist some of the most innovative and exclusive fashion exhibitions at the Musée de la Mode in Paris and Marseille, the Musée Bordelle and the Victoria & Albert museum in London. In 2011, Saillard curated one of his most critically acclaimed exhibition “ Madame Grès ” , as well as the retrospective “ Comme des Garçons: White Drama” and the “Balenciaga Fashion Collector ” exhibition (2012, Les Docks). In collaboration with Tilda Swinton, staged the live performance art exhibition with relics worn by Marie Antoinette, Napoleon and Elsa Schiaperelli, “ The Impossible Wardrobe ”, at the Palais de Tokyo.
