37 Fondation Pierre Bergé - Yves Saint Laurent is the extension of the haute couture house, which primarily seeks to conserve and promote Yves Saint Laurent’s work. Fondation Pierre Bergé - Yves Saint Laurent was established in 2002, two years after Yves Saint Laurent officially announced the cease his career as a couturier and close the haute couture house. The Foundation was recognized as public utility, and its main purposes are to preserve preparatory sketches for the collections, haute couture and ready-to-wear clothing and accessories, and various drawings and objects related to Saint Laurent’s body of work; to organize exhibitions in the fields of fashion, photography, painting, contemporary arts, decorative arts, and Saint Laurent’s work in both its own exhibition spaces and at outside institutions in France and abroad; and to support institutions and cultural projects. In 2017, a new page of the history has been turned, with the opening of Yves Saint Laurent museums in Paris and Marrakech , dedicated to Saint Laurent’s creations.
