This September, the V&A Dundee will establish itself as the beating heart of Scottish fashion. The museum will host Scotland Fashion Now, a new four-day event dedicated to celebrating the excellence and talent of the designers who have made Scotland famous worldwide.

What is Scotland Fashion Now, and why is it revolutionizing Scottish fashion?

Taking place from September 3 to 6, the inaugural programme will transform the museum into a hub for fashion, bringing together emerging designers, established industry professionals and the public for a series of catwalk shows, talks, workshops and networking opportunities.

The event program: fashion shows, workshops, and emerging talent

The festival will open on Thursday, September 3, 2026, with Scotland Fashion Now: Graduate Showcase ’26, an unmissable opportunity to discover Scotland’s best emerging fashion talent. The one-hour runway show will feature 83 exclusive looks created by 26 designers hailing from Scotland’s four leading fashion schools: Edinburgh College of Art, Glasgow School of Art, Gray’s School of Art, and The Design School at Heriot-Watt University. Showcasing collections modeled by the Model Team agency, the event will explore profound themes such as tradition, conflict, memory, sustainability, and the beauty of Scotland’s natural landscapes. It will conclude with an exclusive networking reception supported by the luxury brand Mulberry.

The role of the British Fashion Council and the Fashion Britain project

On Friday, September 4, 2026, the V&A Dundee will host an exclusive Designer Panel in direct collaboration with the British Fashion Council (BFC). This discussion will mark the official debut of the new National Designer Panel Series initiative, a project developed jointly with the renowned magazine ELLE UK. The event is part of the broader Fashion Britain program, established with the strategic aim of fostering creativity, supporting local talent, and driving economic growth across the UK's entire fashion sector.

Fashion careers and Dundee's textile tradition on display

Inspired by the museum's current exhibition, Catwalk: The Art of the Fashion Show, the wider Scotland Fashion Now programme will highlight the many career opportunities available in the fashion industry. In addition, the region's rich heritage will be celebrated through a special knitwear display created by graduates of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, showcasing Dundee's historic reputation for textile innovation. This event joins an ever-growing calendar of industry-focused events in Scotland, which will also see the return of the Scotland Re:Design Scottish Fashion Festival later in the year.
