Applications accepted from the 24th May until midnight on the 15th September 2011.

SAM Art Projects is a private initiative which aims to encourage all new artistic forms which stimulate contemporary creation, be it visual or statuary art, and favours cultural exchanges between Europe and emerging countries with an open mind.

The SAM Prize is a grant of €20,000 from an exhibition at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris and from a publication.

All means of expression and all disciplines belonging to statuary or visual arts are concerned: painting, sculpture, installation, photography, video...

Tous les modes d’expression et toutes les disciplines appartenant aux arts plastiques et visuels sont concernés : peinture, sculpture, installation, photographie, vidéo…

The four criteria of selection are:

-you must be a French artist, or have lived in France for at least 2 years
-you must propose a project for an “emerging” country
-you must be older than 25
-you must be represented by a gallery in France

The Jury of the 2011 SAM Prize is made up of:

Anne-Pierre d’Albis, commissioner and manager of Parcours Saint-Germain in Paris
Fabrice Hergott, director of the Musée d’ Art Moderne de la ville de Paris
Jean-Hubert Martin, managing conservator of heritage, commissioner of exhibitions
Hervé Mikaeloff, commissioner of exhibitions and artistic advisor
Sandra Mulliez, collection Founder of SAM Art Projects
Hans-Ulrich Obrist, co-directer of the Serpentine Gallery in London, commissioner of exhibitions
Marc Pottier, commissioner of exhibitions and artistic advisor
Marc-Olivier Wahler, manager of the Palais de Tokyo, Paris, commissioner of exhibitions

Candidates must apply by midnight on the 15th September 2011, in PDF format, by email to the following address:

The jury will come together on the 15th December 2011 to decide the winner.
