Award

Anouncement of the winners of the prizes Liliane Bettencourt pour l’Intelligence de la Main.

The jury of Fondation Bettencourt Schueller, which valorizes since 1999 the value of French craftsmanship, awarded two prizes from over 400 nominations.
The jury selected the work of Jean Noël Buatois , cutler, to whom they awarded the title of Talent d’exception 2011 for hs piece Komon, a steel dagger. This award celebrates his virtuosity and mastery of techniques, as well as his inventiveness and innovation in cutlery.

The price dialogues 2011 was given to Séverine Dufust, Jean Dufour, Zelie Rouby, Raelyn Larson, Quentin Marais and Dominique Pouchain, six ceramists who collaborated with the designer Guillaume Bardet on the project L’usage des jour. For this project, Guillaume Bardet conceived 365 ceramics vessels that are rooted in the discussion, sharing and daring of ceramics and design. The project, described as an adventure, is the archetype of what the Foundation wants to celebrate: an exemplary collaboration between a craftsman and a designer from another field.

Prix Liliane Bettencourt will be awarded on 11 October 2011, at a ceremony organized by Fondation Bettencourt Schueller, at the Salle Wagram in Paris.
