The New York City luxury department store is to donate to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.
September 11th, 2011 marks a decade since the 9/11 tragedies. Three days prior to this will see the 3rd edition of Fashion’s Night Out, in association with Vogue, NYC&CO and the CFDA, take over New York’s fashion retail scene. Barneys will participate in the high-profile annual fashion event while taking the opportunity to mark the anniversary of the terrorist attacks.
It has been announced that 10% of the Madison Avenue flagship store’s sales, plus 10% of Barneys.com sales, from the entire day and evening will be donated to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. The retailer will offer extended hours, staying open from 10am until 10pm – this will ensure that all customers have the chance to shop and thus raise significant money for this worthy cause.
