The Barcelona-based cultural institution devoted to the promotion of design and creativity, FAD (Fostering Arts and Design), has revealed that Diane Pernet, founder of the blog A Shaded View on Fashion and founder/curator of the Fashion Film Festival, ASVOFF will receive its distinguished FAD Medal 2012.

Serving as a private, independent and not-for-profit association, the FAD’s objective is to promote design in the country’s cultural, economic and social spheres through different associations that represent the various disciplines of design. They include: graphic design, industrial design, architecture, fashion and image, handicrafts, interior design and art.

The FAD creates incentives to encourage the world of enterprise to incorporate design through numerous activities and projects such as ‘Mater’, the FAD’s materials centre which represents almost 150 associated companies actively intervening in the country’s cultural circuits through innovative and experimental initiatives while bridging the academic and the professional worlds by seeking to promote young and promising creatives.

The ceremony will take place at 21:00 on 26 April 2012
