Fashion Week

The 30th Ukrainian Fashion Week was held from 14th to 18th of March 2012, in the National Cultural-Art and Museum Complex.

34 catwalk shows, 43 designers, 21 500 guests, 200 national and international accredited mass media, 8 after-parties dedicated not only to Fashion, but also to outstanding events which will happen in Ukraine and in Europe in 2012, like the Euro Football cup.

For the first time, Kyiv held a personal exhibition of designer and painter Kenzo Takada. The event took place at the Contemporary Art Centre M17 on the 20-th of March. The exhibition consisted of 16 paintings and 19 watercolors, which were combined into one series and got interesting name «NO».

Bearing in mind a close connection of contemporary Art and Fashion, as well as respecting and developing the traditional cooperation of Art Arsenal and Ukrainian Fashion Week, the organizers of the First International Biennale in Kyiv invited leading Ukrainian designers to create a joint collection “ARSENALE is fashion”.

On March 17, a seminar of a progressive fashion-photographer Masha Ru was held. Masha Ru is a graduate of Moscow State University, Eindhoven University of Technology and Amsterdam Photo-Academy. In her works she is balancing on the peak of art and science combining alternative methods of photo-shooting with scientific background and non-traditional media. The seminar was dedicated to photos, clothes of the Future, Technologies and Fashion.

The Ukrainian Fashion Week also introduced EuroFashion 2012, a special Project to bring together fashion and football worlds.
