Universe: As if immersed in a timeless screenplay, Léa Peckre hovers between poetry and nostalgia. Her inspiration is found in places and moments in time but even more frequently it is light that is at the heart of her collections. Architecture is a recurrent reference. Since the creation of her first collection at La Cambre, gothic churches for the style and construction of the architectural volumes inspire Lea Peckre. Consequently with the inspiration of cemeteries the spiritual aspect of her work takes shape as her collections evolve. One of Lea Peckre’s priorities is to appropriate the raw materials and develop personalised effects. Her first collection for the Festival de Hyeres 2011-featured sequins with wood essence prints. The entire subtlety of Lea’s style is to be found in her technique of cutting fishnet entwined with suede; here we can fully appreciate her radical and graphic style. Rhythm is given to unite sculptural volumes and Ariel ‘flous’ and unites graphics, lighting effects, rigueur and weightlessness. The ‘Léa Peckre’ silhouette is defined by sobriety and elegant majesty. The ‘classic’ proportions are altered and designed to create a new styles of suits. The essential is in the structure: the garments support, underline and sculpt the body, which is rarely revealed but often suggested by the play between material and transparencies.
Inspirations: For Spring Summer 2013 , light plays a major part in Lea Peckre's work. In this collection images unfold and spin like in a movie scene. A car driving through the woods in the middle of the night. An eerie dreamy scenery plunged into darkness and a vision of plants appearing between shadows and lights. This is how Léa Peckre carves her silhouettes and plunges them into the dark to light them up with vegetal patterns. Transparent veils delicately overlapping. Shiny contrasts with matt and creates a rhythm of fabrics that shapes the silhouette. From thin dress to second-skin effect to lingerie-like graphic top, the fineness of the fabrics combined with structured and mastered designs shapes the body and follows its lines to emphasize a graceful and unapologetic womanliness. This crafty tailoring exercise from the jacket to the dress is matched with organic cuts. It blends technical materials with wood glimmering effects and gives a "parure"-like set of clothes.
