Artissima, the Turin-based fair for contemporary art, will take place from November 7th to 9th. This year, the fair will welcome a selection of 195 galleries, 61 artists, 40 curators, five prizes dedicated to artists and galleries, one new project dedicated to performance, and last but not least, one exclusive exhibition entitled One Torino.

In this context, Artissima will feature six major sections:
The Main Section, which includes the most representative galleries on the international art scene; the New Entries section devoted to the emerging galleries; Present Future, a section curated by Luigi Fassi, Catalina Lozano, Piper Marshall, Jamie Stevens, Xiaoyu Weng, and dedicated to 20 emerging artists; Back to the Future, a presentation of solo exhibitions by artists of the 60s and 80s; and Art Editions, a space devoted to editorial works, prints, and multiples which were edited by contemporary artists.

For its 21st edition, the fair will also inaugurate Per4m, a new section dedicated to performance art. This section will feature 16 innovative performances curated by Simone Menegoi, Tobi Maier, and Natalia Sielewicz. The 16 works presented during the four days of the event will be displayed on a special platform and in shared areas of the fair, thus allowing the performers to interact with the public.

In addition, Maurizio Cattelan will curate the second edition of One Torino, Artissima's curated exhibition, with Palais de Tokyo’s Special Projects & Cultural Events Manager, Myriam Ben Salah, and independent curator Marta Papini. The show, entitled Shit And Die, will be inaugurated on November 5th, in one of the most fascinating venues in town, the Palazzo Cavour. The exhibition will be open to the public from November 6th to January 11th, 2015.
