Reaching its 7th edition, Milano Design Award 2017's goal is to select and elect, through an international jury, the best exhibition project of Milano Design Week, according to four fundamental qualities that define an installation: concept, technology, storytelling and engagement by IED.

Among the 40 candidates installations, this year the prize was awarded to LG with the light installation S.F._Senses of the Future for the ability to synthesize the conceptual, technological, narrative and emotional aspects in one single project.

The exhibition has been made in collaboration with the designer Tokujin Yoshioka, who is especially renowned for his poetic designs based on groundbreaking experimental techniques as well as for his ability to reflect the beauty of nature and the complexity of human senses in the mediums of design, art and architecture.

This designer’s creations feature in permanent collections in some of the world’s most visited museums, including the Museum of Modern Art ( MoMA ), the Musée d’Orsay and the London’s V&A.

S.F_Senses of the Future combines the state of the art technology of LG with the unique artistic vision of Yoshioka. This ingenious installation projects a poetic phenomenon that can only be described as a tapestry of light : a truly futuristic dimension which confounds and transcends the human senses.
