UNITED KINGDOM / London: Stella McCartney Wins the new prize for Innovation at the 2017 Fashion Awards

The British Fashion creator Stella McCartney, known for her luxury clothing label was honoured as the first designer to receive a special recognition Award for innovation. Presented at The Fashion Awards 2017 sponsored by Swarovski in London on December 4.

Stella’s international career started when she was selected as Creative Director at French luxury house Chloé. In 2001, the designer launched her fashion brand in partnership with the global luxury group, Kering.
Stella is a fashion pioneer as her constant investment to create innovative materials and her sustainable business approach is what makes her one of the industry’s most respected designers. The awareness that she has raised concerning environmental issues means that she has never used any feathers, leather or fur skins in her designs rather choosing eco-friendly sourced viscose and vegetarian leather. The brand has committed to finding innovative and ethical ways to become a responsible business without compromising on the luxurious designs.

Every product category more all her collections incorporate a responsibly minded approach which include women’s ready-to-wear, menswear, accessories, lingerie, swimwear, kids, fragrance and the Adidas by Stella McCartney collection.

The latest collaboration the brand has disclosed is with Bioengineering start-up, Bolt Threads, where Stella is working with bioengineered silk. The forthcoming years Stella McCartney will focus on defining durable and high quality materials to consumers. Whilst restoring the grounds that are used by the raw resources and building supply chain solutions. The Fashion house continues to redefine what luxury can be.
