Pitti opens with changes and a new theme related to designpublished : May 24 2010

New Features , come backs and a new theme, the ‘Design Watching’, for the 78th edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo.
After Pitti People and the Bla Bla Bla, the theme selected for Pitti Immagine (arrived at the 78th edition) is ‘Design Watching’. A raid in the design’s world trough suggestions and visual, sonant and verbal records by a group of buyers, journalists, opinion leader, such as Roberta Valentini from ‘Penelope’ boutique, Giusi Ferré, Joerg Koch from 032C magazine, La Pina (under the coordination of Cristina Morozzi who where asked to point out their favourite new design objects. The set will be designed by Patricia Urquiola, which will design an ideal continuity between the external and interior layouts, with a new relax area and specials installations dedicated to food related to the Taste (other important Pitti event) products. The famous Spanish designer will continue the project started the previous edition and the new concept set in the Padiglione Centrale will expand to the piano Attico}, involving and integrating as well the Classico Italia area, where Urquiola will create a department store, encouraging the dialogue between corners and products.
Visitors will discover many changes and new initiatives : Pop Up Stores, special areas reserved to accessories that unite traditional craftsmanship, design and contemporary style. A new exhibition projects will be launched, called My Factory, dedicated to the street culture: collection and capsule realized by young creators and produced by international brands that work with trendy shops and online.
Several new names and come back at Pitti this year, among others the preview of C.P. Company, the come back at Fortezza of G-Star Raw, with the Raw Essentials collection, the collection designed by Roberto Menichetti for Brema, the new Seventy project (Seventy Pulse) and the renaissance of the historical English brand Daks. Many brand and latest fashion will animate this really promising edition.
