A unique and very special glimpse of Quebec elegance to demonstrate that fashion in Quebec was close to the major international trends of their day.

The show is featuring more than a hundred works by Quebec artists made between 1880 and 1945. Department store advertising posters, catalogues and photographs will also illustrate the growing business of beauty and appearance in Quebec.

To complement the exhibition, eight garments directly inspired by works of art at the MNBAQ and created by some of Quebec’s great fashion designers, including Christian Chenail, Marie Dooley, Philippe Dubuc and Marie Saint Pierre, will illustrate the great effervescence of this artistic milieu.
