The fall Garage Square Commission will introduce Gorky Park visitors to Damián Ortega, whose work will be exhibited in Russia for the first time.

The most ambitious intervention at Garage Square to date, the commission involves recycling seemingly useless, obsolete materials to create elaborate installations and objects. Questioning the belief in technological progress and innovation, Ortega’s works invite us to envisage a new ecology that offers a different relationship between man, everyday materials, and surfaces.
