Nguyen Trinh Thi (born 1973 in Hanoi) is a Hanoi-based artist, documentary filmmaker and video artist. In a context of generalised surveillance and censorship, her art leads her to exhume forgotten archives and work in close contact with the general public as she questions memory and poetically deconstructs the concepts of power and ideology in past and present Vietnam.

Nguyen studied journalism and photography at the University of Iowa, as well as Southeast Asian studies and ethnographic cinema at the University of California, San Diego.
