In his video installations made up of single or multiple projections, Omer Fast (born in Jerusalem in 1972) explores new forms of narration and forges links between words and images. His works aim to provide an in-depth analysis of cinema’s narrative form by proposing multiple viewpoints that present different versions of reality, and thus break free from the medium’s usual linear narrative.

The exhibition at the Jeu de Paume presents a selection of works produced by the artist since 2000. His films bear witness to how narration and fiction, the way in which stories are told and how they are interpreted, can works as tools to encourage reflection. They provide the means by which we can establish a new relationship with history, whilst highlighting what the key factors in terms of the relationship between images, text and sound
