114 2003 GRAPHIC DESIGNER Design International 2003 Modem Design Milano 04/200 Covers by PIPPO LIONNI In the mid-to-end 1970’s Pippo Lionni studied Philosophy and Mathematics at Portland State University. During his young years he played jazz in New York and Paris (where he was living ever since 1981). His career as a designer began in the late 1970’s, and as an artist - two decades later - in the late 1990’s. His installations, prints, animations and painting found its place in several inter- national exhibitions in institutions and galleries, included Columbia University and Max Lang gallery (New York), CAS Zuidas (Amsterdam), Galerie Frédéric Giroux, Espace Modem, Galerie Franck, Bordas and Brownstone Foundation in Paris, the Karel de Grote Hogeschool in Antwerp and the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. With the designer Arik Levy, Pippo Lionni created Ldesign studio . He is a member of the International Graphic Alliance.
