ART DIRECTOR 52 Modem Accessories Fall-Winter 2007-2008 Cover by ITALO LUPI 2007 Italo Lupi , the Editor in Chief and the Art Director of the Abitare magazine. Architecture graduate at the Politecnico of Milan, Italo Lupi designs images, communication, signs, temporary settings and museum’s ambient. He is an Italian member of AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale), an hono- rary member of the Art Directors Club of Milan, and was awarded the title of HonRDI (Honorary Royal Designer for Industry) in London. He was art director of the DOMUS magazine for six years and chief of external communication at the Triennale in Milan and at IBM/Italy. He designed graphics and signs for famous exhibitions at Palazzo Grassi in Venice and in Stupinigi, at the Scuderie Papali of the Quirinale in Rome, for the Pinacoteca Nazionale in Parma. He is in charge of image design of the new Contemporary Art Museum in Milan (Museo del Presente). Together with Achille Castiglioni he designed the general settings of the XVI Triennale of Milan and the exhibition “Venezia e la sua laguna” at the Correr Museum. He also received the award Compasso d’Oro 1998 for Graphic Design and the award Pen Club/ Fedrigoni for the best editorial graphic of 2001.
