57 Modem Women’s Milano Modem Women’s Paris Spring-Summer 2004 Cover by JEAN-MARC BUSTAMANTE 2003 CONTEMPORARY ARTIST Jean-Marc Bustamante (1952) is a French artist, painter, sculptor and photo- grapher that lives and works in Paris. In the mid-70s he started his carreer as an assistant of the photographer William Kline and started in 1978 his huge photographs landscapes titled “Table- aux” witch are now owned by the Metropolitan Museum in New York, Barcelona’s Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA) and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. From the 80s Bustamante introduced in his works different media like photo- graphy, sculpture and painting and started a collaboration with Bernard Bazile under the name of BazileBustamante. Bustamante experiments with a wide variety of media, creating innovative visual suggestions with a mental or even psychological perception of the world. Bustamante represented France at the Venice Biennale in 2003 and participa- ted in Documenta 8, 9, and 10.
