In September, during New York Fashion Week, Rihanna gave us a first look of Alexander Wang's new capsule collection for H&M: sporting a long sleeved crop top paired with WANG branded leggings, the starlet proved that sportswear aesthetics are here to stay.

In fact, Alexander Wang's newly developed garments capture the spirits of the times with their sporty aesthetics, while conveying the designer's know-how when it comes to technical outerwear. "I'm obsessed with sportswear, but funnily enough, I am completely unathletic," explained Alexander, in conversation with L'Uomo Vogue. "I was never good at sports, but the idea of how sports influence our culture is something that has always fascinated me; sportswear to me is dynamic, universal and versatile.”

And indeed, the pieces introduced by the Taiwanese-American designer are quite eye-catching: while the outerwear features functional detailing on a range of parkas and motorcycle jackets, the basic pieces convey that certain playful urban flair, that Wang is famous for, emphasizing his whimsical yet technical approach to ready-to-wear.

Alexander Wang's new capsule collection for H&M will be available from November 6th in stores and online.
