According to the New York Post, the Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week will be forced to leave the Lincoln Center due to a lawsuit settlement, although the center was supposed to host the bi-annual event until the 2020. In fact, the New York City Parks Advocates claimed that the fashion event was damaging the environment of a neighboring public park, by storing tents and technical equipments. Andrew Serrano, press officer for IMG, told NBC 4 New York that the upcoming Fall-Winter 2015 runway shows in February would be the fashion week’s last season at Lincoln Center, but the organization didn’t announce a new location so far. In the meantime, the City of New York and the Lincoln Center have been required to revitalize the park by planting trees and flora, that were cut down to make room for the event’s past editions.
