Every season since 2005, the Premium Young Designers Award promotes and supports the creativity of new talented designers from numerous applicants in each category – womenswear, menswear and accessories. Three brands are selected among numerous submissions and are given the possibility to present their collections to international industry professionals, through a special business platform provided by the Berlin-based fashion trade-show. In this context, a new area of the trade-show, the Hall 8, is exclusively dedicated to the awarded labels, and in addition, their collections will be showcased to the public in a special window display at the renowned French department store Galeries Lafayette. Furthermore, the winners will benefit of Premium’s communication and coaching program.

The winners of the Autumn/Winter 2014-2015 season are the Spanish labels Steinrohner and Guillem Rodrìguez, respectively for the womenswear and menswear sections, and the German brand Stiebich & Rieth for the accessories category.

Steinrohner is the brainchild of the Berlin-based designer-duo Caroline Rohner and Inna Stein, and aims to blend modern technologies with traditional handcrafting techniques. Rohner and Stein met in Berlin at the Weißensee School of Art and found their brand in 2013, right after obtaining their Master degree in fashion design. The Spanish designer Guillem Rodrìguez, on his side, was able to convince PREMIUM’s jury with his high-quality materials, clean-cut silhouettes and expressive detailing, which is said to be inspired by abstract art. At the age of 23, Rodrìguez already won prestigious prizes such as Modafad, Ande and {Best Young Designer in Spain. His impressive portfolio includes a capsule collection designed in collaboration with the artist Alba Rihe, which was showcased last summer during 080 Barcelona.

Last but not least, Stiebich & Rieth is an accessory label founded two years ago by Julia Rieth and Detlef Stiebich. The designers aim to highlight craftsmanship and luxury, by elaborating timeless leather goods with quality detailing. The Hamburg-based label uses natural materials, such as chestnut, tannins, and acacias, to treat their high-quality leathers sourced from Spain, Italy and France.
