After much toing and froing, a spokesperson of Damien Hirst announced that the artist will open his very own art gallery in May or June, 2015.

Aside from being a famous contemporary artist on his own, Damien Hirst is also an avid collector of modern and contemporary art, and recently revealed his personal plans for the opening of an art gallery in the South of London, which will be showcasing more than 2,000 artworks from his own collection, including works by Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons, Banksy, Francis Bacon, Tracey Emin, Picasso, Angela Bulloch, Jim Lambie, and Sarah Lucas, amongst others. In an interview with The Observer, Hirst stated that this new art space will “basically, [it will] be his [my] Saatchi gallery”. The gallery is designed by Caruso St John architects, and located on Newport Street, in Vauxhall. The current theatre warehouses will be transformed into six gallery spaces, with an additional office space, and a restaurant.

The opening was originally planned for 2014, but a spokeswoman for Science Ltd, Hirst's company, has recently revealed it won't be until "May or June" 2015.
