The production of a new play based on Alexander McQueen has been announced on February 12th, the fifth anniversary of the designer’s death.

The new production written by British playwright James Phillips will run from May 12th to June 6th, 2015, at the St James theatre in London. John Caird will direct the production, David Farley will take care of the design, and Christopher Marney will be in charge of the choreography.

The play pays a tribute to the visionary world of Alexander McQueen, interpreting his very unique perception of reality, which he wonderfully conveyed through his outstanding fashion creations and one-of-a-kind catwalk shows. The story, inspired by McQueen’s performances, follows a girl who breaks into the designer's home to steal a dress and who is caught by him.

In this context, the opening dates of the retrospective exhibition titled Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty, which is set to debut at the Victoria and Albert Museum on March 14th, 2015, have been extended to August 2nd. Due to an impressively high number of requests, the exhibition has made more than 50,000 tickets available, and plans to have additional viewing times in the mornings and evenings.
