On the occasion of the 2015 edition of the Salone del Mobile, Tokyo Design Week will head to Milan for the second time. The event, which takes place at the Padiglione Visconti from April 14th to 19th, 2015, will bring Japanese creativity to the vibrant Milanese design hub in order to promote international artistic exchanges.

Together with the Design Association NPO Tokyo, Tokyo Design Week gathered a record high number of 90 000 visitors last season. The showcase aims to offer a 360° perspective on Nippon culture, including fashion, food, art, design, and music. This year’s main theme is the city of Tokyo with its eclectic mix of ancient traditions, dated back to the Edo age, and contemporary trends such as the Kawaii weave. Tokyo Design Week‘s schedule includes art installations, such as Tokyo Girls Room by Chintai and Homage to Ukiyoe, the Hokusai Manga Inspired Exhibition and a Japanese Sake Bar by Hidetoshi Nakata.
