Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida won the second annual LVMH Prize. The Portuguese designers received a grant of 300,000 euros and an additional year of mentorship from executives at LVMH. The French designer Jacquemus, for his part, won an unplanned Special Prize worth 150,000 euros.

Trained both in womenswear, the Portuguese designers Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida graduated from London’s reputed Central Saint Martins school and founded their brand Marques’Almeida in 2011. For its first two seasons, the designer-duo showed under Lulu Kennedy’s platform – Fashion East. They have been awarded NEWGEN sponsorship from the British Fashion Council/Topshop and have shown for three consecutive seasons on schedule at London Fashion Week.

In addition, Jacquemus, the womenswear designer who made a name for himself with his playful approach to fashion and his certain French je-ne-sais-quoi, was awarded an unplanned Special Prize and received a grant of 150,000 euros and one year of mentorship. The designer has been showcasing on the official Paris ready-to-wear schedule for the past two seasons, and presented his collections off-schedule before.
