FRANCE / Paris: MYKITA and Maison Margiela launch “Raw“

Raw is a new eyewear capsule collection launched by MYKITA and Maison Margiela. The two maisons have been successfully collaborating together since 2009, sharing a common ethos and creative approach.

Raw combines both brand’s appreciation of technical precision and craftsmanship with contemporary principes of design. The collection concept is based on raw and unpolished acetate frames that are removed at an early stage in the production process. This deliberate interruption creates an aesthetic all its own, one which reveals the traces of modern technology and creates a contrast between classic shapes and fragmented exteriors. Sophisticated bevelled edges make a distinctive feature of the temples and frame front while making the raw structure wearable.

MYKITA is a Germany-based eyewear brand which combines pression craftsmanship with new technologies. The brand became famous thanks to its holistic business philosophy which brings together expertise from all disciplines under a single roof, the MYKITA HAUS.

Founded by Belgian designer Martin Margiela in Paris in 1988, Maison Margiela is known for its conceptual and pioneering designs. The brand features several lines including Haute Couture, womenswear, menswear, accessories, fine jewellery, fragrances and interior design. Maison Margiela is synonyme of avant-garde and timeless style.
