FRANCE / Paris: Belgium is Design — Is This Real?

Belgium is Design offers a makeover for the promotion of Belgian creativity by exhibiting the so-called “Is this real?” installation, a tribute to Belgian surrealism, which challenges the capacity of Belgian design businesses to innovate, preserve and transmit knowledge, developing projects and products that are true ambassadors of Belgian culture abroad. In this context, 9 businesses are making the news at the Maison & Objet fair. Their products are as varied as their stories: a fabric woven from copper filaments (LcD); a tradition in glass that has been inspiring Durobor for more than 100 years; Tamawa’s Bakelite billiard ball revisited by Arik Levy; a new life offered to old barns in Canada (Atmosphère & Bois), or real signatures for Eternum’s stainless steel cutlery, without forgetting ABV’s acoustics, Baobab’s fragrances, woven vinyl flooring of 2tec2 and Hind Rabii’s sensitive light.
