From January 12th to 15th, 2016, Pitti Uomo will take over the Fortezza da Basso, Florence, for its 89th edition. Korean designer Juun.J has been invited as this year’s Menswear Guest Designer, while Marco de Vicenzo and adidas Originals by White Mountaineering will be featured in the event respectively as Womenswear Guest Designer and Designer Project.

In this context, Juun.J will present his menswear Fall / Winter 2016 -2017 collection for the first time in Florence with a one-of-a-kind event. Showcasing in Italy for the first time, the Korean designer will showcase an avant-garde collection that skillfully fuses Asian heritage with Italian tailoring, while focusing on futuristic volumes, military influences and Parisian cosmopolitanism.

The internationally reputed Italian designer Marco De Vincenzo, for his part, will stage a performance in a brand-new space located in the heart of Florence. The exclusive mise-en-scène will mirror De Vincenzo’s unique approach to fashion and his colorful creative universe. Finally, Yosuke Aizawa, who previously made his debut at Pitti with his own brand White Mountaineering, will come back to Florence with a new project. The Japanese designer will present his capsule collection for adidas Originals — a collection that combines traditional craftsmanship and technical innovation.

The program of the upcoming edition of Pitti Uomo will include several fashion-forward initiatives like Pitti Italics, Guest Nation, as well as the award ceremony of the Woolmark Prize, among other events.
