Gucci kills to birds with one stone: the Italian luxury brand announces that the upcoming cruise collection will be showcased in London and that Alessandro Michele will be honored at the BFAs.

Alessandro Michele, Gucci’s creative director has been named International Fashion Designer Of The Year by the British Fashion Awards, alongside Karl Lagerfeld, who will also receive an award for his outstanding contribution to the fashion industry, while Nick Night will receive the the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator.

The Italian designer caused a lot of ink to flow with his latest women’s ready-to-wear collection in Milan, and has established himself as a luxury and fashion taste-maker. Alessandro Michele has been at Gucci since 2002 after being hired by Tom Ford, and was appointed at the helm of the brand, after Frida Giannini’s departure earlier this year. In addition to the prestigious award, Gucci has also announced that the brand’s upcoming pre-Spring/Summer 2017 will be held in London.

The 2015 edition of the British Fashion Awards ceremony will be held on November 23rd at the London Coliseum.
