J.W.Anderson is the first designer to scoop the prize for both womenswear and menswear of the year at this year’s British Fashion Awards.

Anderson, who made a name for himself with his often controversial unisex approach across his men’s and women’s collections, already won a British Fashion Award for emerging talent in 2012 and was also last year’s recipient of the menswear award.

Jonathan Anderson is a 30-year-old designer from Northern Ireland who trained at the London College of Fashion before establishing his eponymous brand in 2008. As of today, J.W.Anderson is regarded as one of London’s most intuitive fashion brands. Season after season, the brand advances its playful aesthetic in the annals of fashion. It subverts the complacency of prettiness and celebrates the discipline of the perverse.
