PLUME OF DESIRE
David Lynch presents a new series of 25 new lithographs and a series of original works (until 6/11/16).

In gallery in the heart of Montparnasse, Item Editions presents the latest works of David Lynch : Red Strings (mixed technique on wood, 123.5 x 123.5 cm, 2014) five painted gouaches in 2016 and a series of 25 lithographs 30 copies by the artist in 2015 in the printing workshops Idem Paris, backed the Item Editions gallery.

- The first retrospective exhibition of the work of David Lynch : '' The Air is on Fire '', was held in March 2007 in the Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art. A multitude of drawings, works and notes by the artist over forty years, that David Lynch had carefully preserved since his teens and regularly used as inspiration. On this occasion, as part of editing a box containing a book and a lithograph signed by the artist, David Lynch was led by the Director of the Foundation in the premises of the publisher.

The artist was a real crush on this quiet and confidential place where artists are a real space of freedom for their creation. For David Lynch, the small workshop led by Patrice Same Forest was paradise! Since 2007 this collaborative relationship has continued and lithographs production has been steady.

The workshop Idem Paris - which houses editions Item - was the former workshop Fernand Mourlot, printer lithographer whose tools were used for print jobs from Matisse, Fautrier, Dubuffet, Miro, Chagall, or Picasso. It is in this matrix illustrates a part of the history of art, as David Lynch discovered the magic, in his words, printing Stone.

The process fascinates developed only in 2012 he directed a short film in black and white showing the drawing of his lithographs on the workshop presses.
