Each year Monumenta, the new rendez-vous of contemporary creation, offers to an artist the possibility to take ground in the monumental nave of the Grand Palais with a complete new work.

Made for the Grand Palais, the installation "Personnes" deals with a new theme for Christian Boltanski who carries on his reflexion about humanity’s limits and the essential dimension of memory, the issue of destiny and of the inevitability of death. Christian Boltansky has made of the huge nave a visual and resonant place of moving commemoration.
