The winners of the 2016 [size=14][red]Australian Fashion Laureate Awards[/red][/size] were announced last 19th of October at a ceremony, hosted at the iconic Sydney Opera House Bennelong Restaurant. The australian designer [size=14][red]Toni Maticevski[/red][/size] was awarded the Australian Fashion Laureate while [size=14][red]Ellery[/red][/size] won the Best Australian Womenswear award. The Australian Fashion Laureate Awards are presented by the NSW Government and IMG to recognize the outstanding creative achievements of the nation’s fashion industry.

The respected icon in Australian fashion, Toni Maticevski received the Australian Fashion Laureate in recognition of his artisanal craft and innovative design, continuously breaking barriers in Australian fashion. Maticevski’s use of complex drapery, meticulous tailoring and architectural design has deemed his championship in Australian fashion. He has been exemplary in driving a successful business whilst producing majestic creations true to the heart of his brand.
