[size=14]The 23rd edition of [red]Festival International des Jeunes Créateurs de Mode[/red] was held at the medieval French city of Dinan from 7th to 9th April. Welcoming many audiences with tremendous weather, the designers presented their mini collection of 7 models, both on the streets and at the Theatre des Jacobins. In addition, the winners of the 4 prizes including Women's Collection, Men's Collection and two special prizes on the theme of Save the Planet, “UPCYCLING ECO TLC" and “GAVOTTES ®”, were announced in the evening of 8th April.

The winners this year are…..

Laurence Lallot from France walked away with two prizes, the Women’s Collection and the Gavottes ®’s prize. These special prizes are sponsored by pastry manufacturers Gavottes ® and the Fédération Française des Dentelles et Broderies. The two companies asked the designers to use Gavottes symbolic colours to create a travel inspired collection their garments should be scattered with delicate golden nuggets, and irresistable blue lace.
Lallot, 25, focused on body packaging. The packaging is integrated into this collection with a unique pattern to make a garment in one piece. She is also inspired by the masculine wardrobe with wool costumes and a palette of masculine colors from pine green to navy blue.

Zhikai Yang was honored with the Men’s Collection Prize for his collection which stemmed from his own origin. He is passionate about the old Chinese fabric that he discovered on his home island of Hainan. Mixing the modern style and old traditions, he advocates “slow fashion”.

UPCYCLING ECO TLC’s prize was awarded to Alexis Jodas (France) and Seijiro Mizukami (Japan). The Prize was sponsored by the sustainability and recycling organisation set up by the French apparel, home linen textiles and footwear industry, the contestants were asked to design items using recycled materials and pre-owned objects.
Alexis Jodas’s feminine collection "Habemus Madame" for his own brand “Madone of Steel” combines the tailor's craft work with the hand embroidery of pearls, sequins, Swarovski crystals and petals of fabrics. In addition, his awarded Upcycling model was created with cut jeans and button in his mother's sewing box. Meanwhile, Seijiro Mizukami’s collection, “Viril ” represents a deep inner self of a male adventurer, sportsman, ambitious, a good man with tearing and overlying tissues. In addition, his winning model was designed in a carved, painted and reworked military trench.

Laurence Lallot and Zhikai Yang received 4,000 euros from Messe Frankfurt France. In addition, they are offered the chance to showcase at these two famous trade shows in Paris known as, the Texworld or to present their creations at Who’s Next.
