Karl Lagerfeld received the Légion d'Honneur

On June 3rd, the designer has received the Commander of the Legion of Honor rank, at the Elysee Palace, in the presence of President Nicolas Sarkozy.

Karl Lagerfeld was last week awarded the Legion of Honour by the Frence President,Nicolas Sarkozy in the presence of his wife and the First Lady of France Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, with who the designer has often worked.

Artistic director of Chanel since 1983, the German designer is also a photographer, a filmmaker and an editor. Throughout his career he has worked for many fashion houses including Jean Patou, Balmain, Chloé and Fendi. He created his own brand in 1984 and launched the line K by Karl in 2007.

The earned medals, set with diamonds, was made by the Chanel Joaillerie ateliers.
