According to the New York Times, Daphne Guinness has bought the entire wardrobe of the late fashion icon Isabella Blow.

Daphne Guinness, the art and fashion collector – and heiress to the Guinness family, has bought the entire wardrobe of the late fashion editor and international fashion icon, Isabella Blow. A collection, which includes eminent pieces by the late designer Alexander McQueen.

The collection was supposed to be sold by Christie’s next fall.
"It’s Issy – it’s her D.N.A, it should not be scattered to the four winds” said Ms. Guinness, who was a passionate follower of Mr. McQueen’s work and his greatest supporter after Ms. Blow’s suicide in 2007. Isabella Blow had championed McQueen’s works from the start of his career. She had even purchased his entire graduate collection for ₤5,000, paying it off in weekly ₤100 instalments.

The 90 McQueen outfits, along with dresses by John Galliano and hats by the milliner Philip Treacy, were to have been put up for auction in September. Patricia Frost, director of fashion and textiles at Christie’s in London}, called the collection "unique" and said it showed that "Mr. McQueen really deserves his place in fashion history."

The collection of clothing is being sold by Ms. Blow’s estate, under the guardianship of her sisters, and Ms. Guinness intends to keep the collection together as a single entity. "Like any artist, it should not be dispersed, but remain as a monument with people having access to it”, said Ms. Guinness.
