John Galliano receives the Legion d’Honneur

John Galliano was elevated to the rank of Commander of the Legion d’Honneur by the French President.

Just few weeks after Karl Lagerfeld the British designer received the Legion D’honneur. The ceremony was held yesterday at the Elysee Palace, just before the start of the Paris Fashion Week.

John Galliano, former student of the Central Saint Martin, launched his eponymous brand in 1984 and headed the Dior fashion house since 1996.

The designer, close friend of Carla Bruni Sarkozy (with whom he had worked before) have already received the title of Commander of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II.
