Rakuten Tokyo Fashion Week FW 2024 showcases 43 Japanese brands

Tokyo Fashion Week is ready to showcase for the FW 2024 season, under the theme "Open, Fashion Week", a total of 43 brands (attachment 1), including 1 brand that will be presented through “by R”, a project hosted by Rakuten Group, Inc. (hereinafter indicated as ‘Rakuten’), to empower the Japanese fashion scene. 35 brands will be giving physical presentations 8 brands giving digital presentations have been decided. This season again, the event is scheduled to be held at the main venues of Shibuya Hikarie and Omotesando Hills, along with other venues chosen by individual brands.

On March 10 (Sun.), the eve of the 2024 FW season, Masu, the award-winning brand of “Fashion Prize of Tokyo 2024”, will be presenting their latest collection in Paris at Shibuya Hikarie, Hikarie Hall A, as the “Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo 2024 AW Special On-Schedule Reception Party”. Befitting the “Open, Fashion Week” theme, this is an event open to the public, and not for industry-related people only. It is a special event designed to further enliven the elevated spirits towards the fashion week starting the next day.

Among the participating brands, there are the award-winning designers of the 9th “Tokyo Fashion Award”, hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Jfwo, aimed at supporting designers based in Tokyo to leap out and broaden business on a global field, scheduled to present their collections at the Official venue of Shibuya Hikarie, Hikarie Hall A. They are anna choi (Haengnae), Takuya Isagawa (mister it.), Misa Takeuchi (Photocopieu), Daisuke Tanaka (tanakadaisuke), Kazuho Arai (Faf), Tsukasa Takabayashi (Faf), Kota Gushiken (Kota Gushiken), Shimpei Kajiura (Shinyakozuka), Soshi Otsuki (Soshiotsuki).

This season there will be brands continuing and re-participating in Tokyo’s fashion week, brands who participated in the past through various projects, such as the Tokyo Fashion Award, Jfw Next Brand Award, by R, etc. A richly layered line-up in which first-time participants to seasoned, well-known, popular brands will be participating. In digital presentations, this season, a total of 8 brands will be participating. These brands will each be transmitting their unique worldview on the fashion week platform, through means of expression original to digital presentations.
