Riccardo Sarfatti, founder of Luceplan SPA, died, the September 10th, 2010 following a terrible car accident. Son of Gino, one of the most important figures of the sector of the lighting of the 50s, Riccardo confirmed the international success of his father by establishing in 1978, with his wife Sandra Severi and his fellow student Paolo Rizzatto, Luceplan, a company of design applied to the lighting.

Architect, teacher and tireless promoter of the Italian excellence worldwide, it was during more than thirty years one of the protagonists of the Made in Italy on the international scene. Its passion for the new projects and his entrepreneur's courage conferred on Luceplan a role determining in the field of the innovation and some technological research. It is by this approach that is born a series of products, real icons in measure to condition all the industrial production of these last decades.
